There was a major rant the other day about cups. Yes I agree that the interface sucks but what about the rest of the system. I bought together with my girlfriend a decent and nice SOHO printer: a Brother 1440 which also suggested on Linuxprinting. Apparently I get it once working as root but as a user (as what I am working on my machine) there is no go. Maybe it is working, but all the interfaces available are unusable. So still fighting here.
