Yes, partly this is comparing apple and oranges. But! After a while using iTunes I went back to Coolplayer. Comparing both with some stuff from The Verbrilli Sound revealed that listening in iTunes is like holding a sheet of cardboard between your ears. I am by no means an audiophile but my weak ears could easily recognize the difference in dynamic range. Despite that: a whopping 35MByte in memory for iTunes and 8MByte for Coolplayer.
